Brock Falkenberg is a product of California's public schools. Brock, and his family, moved to Lake County in 1998 when Brock was serving as the Assistant Principal at Lower Lake High School. He and his family fell in love with the county and have chosen to remain in Lake County. Brock's three children all graduated from, Lake County public schools.
Brock's first job in education was not as a teacher, but as summer help with the Grounds and Maintenance staff. He has mowed the lawns, fixed the toilets, and cleaned the floors of schools. Before teaching, Brock was involved in the cabinet and millwork industry, where he worked as a lead machinist and project manager. In these positions, Brock took a leadership role in the introduction and adoption of computer based, advanced manufacturing strategies that were cutting edge in the industry. During this time, Brock frequently employed high school students and recent graduates, and was able to pass on his skills and knowledge. This experience was rewarding for Brock, and changed his career direction to teaching.
Brock coached and taught for six years. With classes focused around advanced manufacturing, computer aided drafting, and construction, Brock was able to have students apply higher order thinking skills and integrate core academic knowledge, as they tackled real world, relevant problems. During this time, Brock earned a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Brock's leadership and commitment to kids, both in the classroom and within extra-curricular activities, were recognized by his Principal and Superintendent, so he was encouraged to move into school administration.
In his 28 years as a school administrator, Brock has been assigned positions with increasing levels of responsibility. He has served as a high school assistant principal, high school principal, director, and senior director. In his career, Brock has had the opportunity to directly supervise and oversee a wide variety of instructional and operational departments within the public schools.
Brock has always believed in giving back. He is retired from the US Army with over 21 years of combined active and active reserve service. Brock is a member of Rotary, and is focused on serving the local communities of Lake County.
